Ground Transportation from Atlanta Airport (ATL), Georgia, USA
New Atlanta airport terminal Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International is located about 7 miles south of the city, close to Interstate motorways I-85 and I-285, 75 miles north of Macon, 135 miles west of Augusta and 140 miles east of Birmingham (Alabama). Concourse E is for international flights, a train links all terminals. The Terminal building is split into North and South, connected by a travelator and underground train. All airport transfers start from the Ground Transportation Center between the North and South Terminals.
The North terminal handles most overseas airlines and US airlines, with South Terminal for Delta, Aeromexico and Air France.
Taxis Set-fee taxi fares to city centre business district cost from $30 for 1 person to $40 for 4 + more passengers.
Bus There is no public bus, but many hotels and motels offer a free shuttle service, or take the train. Shared-ride shuttles can also be booked, details from Atlanta Airport. A Greyhound Flightlink office is located on the lower level at North Terminal and provides long-distance transportation from the airport to various cities and states.
Train The MARTA airport train station is located at the west entrance of the terminal complex close to the baggage reclaim. Trains run to/from downtown every 8 minutes for about $2 single, with connections to other parts of the city. Atlanta's main Peachtree AMTRAK station is located at 1688 Peachtree St, 3 miles north of downtown; Amtrak's Crescent train passes through here daily between New York and New Orleans.
