Getting to and from Auckland Airport (AKL)
Air New Zealand flight loading at Auckland airportThe largest airport of New Zealand is at Manakau Harbour (also known locally as Mangere Airport), 14 miles south of the city centre. A free shuttle bus connects the separate domestic and international terminals, which are 2/3 mile apart, or take the open air walkway.
Taxi Taxis stop outside international and domestic terminals, fare costs approximately NZ$60-80 to the city and journeys take around 35 minutes.
Bus The 24/7 blue Airbus Express shuttle leaves every 10-20 minutes to the city centre, stopping all along Queen Street, Mount Eden train station and ending at the Downtown Ferry Terminal, tickets from the driver. The Ferry Terminal is opposite the Britomart Transport Centre, from here there are bus and train connections to other Auckland areas.
A half hourly orange Airporter bus goes to Manukau city and Papatoetoe train station from the airport.

Train No direct train from this airport. The nearest railway station is the new Britomart Station on Queen Street, accessible by bus (see above). From here there are train connections to Rotorua, Tauranga and Wellington.
