Getting to and from Bangalore Airport (BLR)
Outside Bangalore Airport terminalBengaluru International is a modern busy flight hub in Karnataka province, South India, located about 20 miles distance northeast from the centre of Bangalore, India's 3rd largest city. It has a single large 4-storey passenger terminal for both international and domestic flights.
Taxi Book pre-paid taxis from the KSTDC counter in Arrivals, open 24 hours a day. Hotels can also be booked at the counter.
Bus Regular modern air-conditioned BMTC Volvo buses (the Vayu Vajra service) run to the city centre. The main Kempe Gowda bus station in Bangalore is opposite the City train station. From here, local and long-distance bus routes lead to nearly all towns and cities in Karnataka, with routes and timetables available in English.
A common and convenient way to get around the city itself is by metered auto-rickshaw.
Train No train service from this airport yet. The nearest train stations are Bangalore City (19 miles east), Bangalore Cantonment (for service to the north of the city) and Yelahanka station.
A new city Metro railway dubbed 'Namma Metro' is under construction, the first 5 mile Eastern Line stretch was opened in October 2011.
