Bordeaux Airport Low Cost terminal billiCheckin desks at the new terminalThe photograph shows the all new terminal called "billi", it's used for all lowcost airlines at Bordeaux. The idea behind this new terminal is to reduce the airport tax to airlines. Unfortunately it does come at the cost of comfort for travellers but even so there has been an increase in passengers of nearly 15% over the last year to France's 6th largest airport. Holidaymakers from eastern Europe accounted nearly all of this increase.
The airport is located just over 6 miles west of the city centre and is served by the Jet Bus.
Taxi Should cost around £21 - £32 for 30 to 45 mins into town, dependent on time of day, roadworks and traffic jams.
Bus Jet Bus Navette Aéroport leaves airport every 30 mins weekdays, every 45 mins at weekends, to Place Gambetta in town and Saint Jean station.
Train Nearest station is Gare St. Jean, 2 miles SE of city centre, from here many train services run to Paris Gare Montparnasse (3 hrs.by high-speed TGV), Lille, Bayonne, Nantes, Poitiers, La Rochelle and Toulouse.
