Flights to 25 international destinations started in April 2005. This ex RAF airfield has a runway length of nearly 2800 metres and is suitable for long haul flights. New low cost hub for Thomsonfly, also used by Thomas Cook, Britannia and Ryanair. Current plans expect the airport to grow to over 2 million passengers a year. Airport Location  6 miles south east of Doncaster. 20 miles east of Sheffield. Close to the network of motorways around Doncaster and Shefield - M1 A1(M) and M62. How to get there  Train - Doncaster Railway Station is the nearest mainline train station to Robin Hood Airport and is situated just 7 miles away. A special Arrow Bus shuttle service connects Doncaster railway station and the airport terminal building. A future rail link to Robin Hood Airport is not expected before 2008. Road - Just a couple of miles from M18. Good road connections to cities of North East England, such as Sheffield, Leeds, Hull, York, Lincoln.
