Getting to and from Melbourne Airport - Victoria (MEL)
The city's Tullamarine International airport in Southern Australia is located about 15 miles distance northwest. All 4 terminals are near to each other and linked by walkways for quick transfer between international and domestic flights. International flights use Terminal 2, which has an information desk on the ground floor.
Melbourne is well-connected to all capital cities and to many regional towns. A ferry sails to Tasmania all year, departing from Port Melbourne’s Station Pier. The city's excellent tram network is also a much-used way to travel.
Taxi Taxis wait outside the terminals, the journey takes 35 minutes to the city centre and fares cost around $50. Unlicensed touts are illegal at the airport and should be ignored.
Bus The bright red SkyBus super shuttle operates 24 hours every day between the airport and Southern Cross bus & train station in Spencer street, city centre. A free service to hotels or motels is also available if booked in advance, see skybus for latest fare and route details. Bendigo Airport Service has a service 3 times a day to Bendigo, it can stop at Gisborne, Woodend, Kyneton, Malmsbury, Taradale, Castlemaine and Harcourt.
Train or Tram No railway station at this airport, the nearest mainline train station is at Flinders Street. The nearest tram station is at Airport West, a northwest suburb a few miles from the airport. Tram Line 59 runs from there to Elizabeth Street and Flinders Street station in the Central Business District.
From Southern Cross bus and rail station in the city centre, long-distance trains connect to Victoria, Adelaide, Canberra and Sydney,
