Scottish Departures : Norwegian and Delta start direct flights to New York from Scotland

May is an important month for Glasgow airport, it's the start of daily direct flights to New York's Kennedy airport. Flights are operated by Delta Air Lines and depart early afternoon from Glasgow and arrive 7½ hours later in JFK at 3:30pm. These flights can also be booked direct with Delta's transatlantic codeshare partner Virgin Atlantic. This is now in direct competition to American Airlines who fly to JFK out of Edinburgh and Norwegian with their so called "truly affordable" flights to Stewart International Airport (50 miles north of New York).

BA Terminal entrance at JFK - from AirTrainKennedy Airport is New York's principal international airport. It lies on Long Island, adjacent to Jamaica Bay, about 15 miles southeast of downtown Manhattan. This massive airport has 9 passenger terminals, all linked by the free AirTrain.
