Transport from Pudong Shanghai Airport (PVG), China
Pudong International was opened in 1999 and is situated close to the coast, about 20 miles southeast of central Shanghai. This easily accessible airport is China's 3rd largest international flight hub. Main highways connect Shanghai to cities like Nanjing, Suzhou and Hangzhou.
Taxi Metered taxis are available outside Arrivals, fares to the city start at about CNY150 and the journey time can take an hour. Taxi fares are a lot higher after 11 pm.
Bus Various bus routes provide services to different areas of Shanghai, Hongqiao Airport, Exhibition Centre, Shanghai Railway Station, but journeys can take up to 1.5 hours. Many hotels offer passenger collection service.
Train The super fast and inexpensive Maglev Line (the famous magnetic levitation train) connects this airport to the city's Longyang Road Metro Station in 8 minutes, at speeds of over 260 mph.
From the main railway station, (located in Zhabei district at the end of Metro Line 1), direct trains run to Beijing and many other parts of China.
