There are also year round non-stop flights from Air Canada and BA out of Heathrow.
Flights with a stopover: IcelandAir is a good option from outside London, they fly year round to Toronto from Glasgow, Birmingham and Manchester, free extras include stopovers in Iceland, and for Internet addicts there is also free Wifi onboard. KLM is the other main carrier, flying more UK visitors to Canada than any other airline. Another choice is the newish low cost airline WOW Air they fly to Toronto 4 times a week from Gatwick, their Airbus aircraft stopover in Reykjavik Iceland.

Public Transit at Toronto Airport (YYZ), Canada
Most flights arrive at the busy terminal 3, fortunately Canada's biggest airport is spacious. It's located about 19 miles northwest outside the Canadian metropolis, off the Highways 409 and 427. Most European long-haul flights arrive at Terminal 3, but could change in the future to the newly built Terminal 1.
Toronto stretches along Lake Ontario's northwest shores, halfway between Ottawa and Detroit, and is a major gateway to North America. The city is less than 100 miles from Buffalo NY State in the US. Niagara Falls are about 80 miles south and the town of Hamilton, Ontario, is 35 miles away.
Taxi Metered taxis and limousines are available, fares start at about CAD$50 for a 30 minute journey.
Bus Airport Express coaches depart every 30 mins from all Arrival levels to the city centre bus terminal and major downtown hotels. Cheaper but slower travel options are the TCC Airport Rocket bus to Kipling subway station for onward travel to the city, or the 58A bus to Lawrence West subway station north of downtown. Many other bus connections are available.
Train A new diesel UP train arriving at Toronto airportA frequent train service links the airport to the main Union train station in the city centre, it's known as the UP Express. Tickets can be purchased with cash or credit card at the station inside the airport. Trains leave the airport from 6am until midnight every day, they depart every 15 minutes, the journey takes 25 minutes to Union Station. Toronto city is served by the VIA Rail System, the network that provides all rail service throughout Canada, with connections to the Amtrak system through Niagara Falls, New York. Union Station on Front Street is a vast crossroads for many destinations and is right on Toronto's TTC subway line. It is also the departure point for "The Canadian", the transcontinental train travelling via Jasper and the Rocky Mountains to Vancouver on the Pacific coast.
