Thomsonfly - The low fare wing of Thomson Holidays
Thomsonfly's scheduled budget flights base is at at Coventry airport, with 2 other low fare hubs at the new Doncaster Sheffield and Bournemouth airports. After launch in 2004, Thomson fly already handled half a million scheduled passengers from these regional airports.
In 2004 the Thomson Group rebranded Britannia Airways as Thomsonfly, the new low fare and holiday airline. Thomsonfly is now part of TUI UK, which also includes UK holiday company Thomson.
The airline has been very successful in attracting large numbers of passengers because many people like to fly from small nearby airports. The idea is for most of the UK population to live within 1 hour's drive of Thomsonfly cheap flights to most popular holiday destinations.
